How long does a split system installation take?

Most single split system installs take 2–4 hours from arrival to completion. Multi-head installs or jobs with longer pipe runs may take a full day. We’ll give you a clear timeframe when we quote.

We supply everything — unit, installation hardware, pipe, electrical connections, and all materials. This is the cleanest way to do it because we can ensure the right unit is sourced, the warranty is registered correctly, and everything is covered under our 5-year install warranty. If you’ve already purchased a unit, contact us to discuss — we may be able to install it depending on the brand and model.

Our supply and install price includes the unit itself, indoor and outdoor mounting brackets, standard pipe run up to 3 metres, electrical connection to an existing circuit, commissioning and testing, and our 5-year workmanship warranty. If your pipe run is longer or you need a new circuit installed, we’ll quote that separately and clearly upfront.

Yes — we install split systems in brick veneer, double brick, and rendered homes all the time across the northern suburbs. Brick wall penetrations take a bit more time but it’s standard work for us. We’ll assess the best route for the pipe run when we quote.

No — Hippo Air & Electrical holds both a refrigeration licence and an electrical licence. We handle the full install including the electrical connection. One trade, one call, no need to coordinate separate contractors.
